If I purchase a ticket and do not attend is there a refund? - Ticket refunds will only be given in the case the Purple Woods Maple Syrup Festival is closed due to unsafe weather conditions by Central Lake Ontario Conservation.
Ticket for Pancakes? - No, you do not need to purchase a ticket if you are just going to visit the Heritage Store to purchase some maple syrup or to enjoy a stack of hot pancakes. Without a ticket you will not be able to visit the various displays and see the Sugar Shack.
Why does the Festival end at 2:30pm each day? - After each day of the Festival it takes us approximately 3 hours to clean, restock, repair items and prepare for the next day.
Group Tickets - If tickets are still available for the day you wish to come there is no problem. If you group is arriving by bus please let us know so a parking space may be arranged.
I have a AM Ticket and arrive at 11:00am. Do I have to leave by Noon? - No, however on your arrival you will be asked to go directly to Heritage Hall to purchase your pancakes before enjoying the rest of the Festival. If you do not wish pancakes then you may make your way to the Sugar Shack.
I have a PM Ticket and arrive at 11:30am. Do I have to wait until Noon to get in? - No, however you will be asked to please go down and enjoy the Festival at the Sugar Shack and come back for pancakes at Heritage Hall after Noon.
Why are there only limited tickets sold at the door at Purple Woods? - Over crowding has been an issue at the Festival in the past. Long wait for pancakes, wagon rides and crowded parking. To ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable visit we are limiting the amount of admissions to 1,000 visitors/day. It is STRONLY ADVISED that visitors purchase their tickets in advance through online or at the Conservation Office in south Oshawa during business hours Mon. - Fri., 8:30am - 4:30pm. Cash, debit, Visa and MasterCard is accepted at the office. If the event is sold out, tickets will not be available at the door due to safety regulations as we have reached capacity.
The weather is very bad is there a refund? - In the case of unsafe site conditions due to weather, Central Lake Ontario Conservation will close the Maple Syrup Festival and e-mail all ticket holders for that day. The email will contain proceedures for ticket holders to request a refund. Visitors may then purchase available tickets for another day.
Where do I purchase my Pancake and Wagon Ride Tickets? - Pancake tickets will available for sale by the kitchen (cash, debit, Visa & MasterCard). Wagon ride tickets will be available from the operator down by the Sugar Shack (cash only).
