About the event

Garlic mustard is an eatable herb native to Europe that is aggressively invasive in Ontario. It has a strong, distinct “garlicy” smell and taste. Not only does it outcompete native plants like the trillium and ostrich fern for space, but its roots release chemicals that that prevent the growth of other plants. Management of garlic mustard is ongoing as the seeds can remain viable in the soil for several years. To learn more about garlic mustard check out: https://www.ontario.ca/page/garlic-mustard
