About the event
Celebrate Mother’s Day with tea and scones followed by a guided woodland wildflower walk at Purple Woods Conservation Area! May is the perfect time to enjoy the spring ephemerals - the many short-lived woodland flowers that rush to bloom in the early spring. Their race is squeezed between snow and emerging tree leaves with the goal to be all done blooming by the time the forest is in full shade again. Like the migrating birds and singing frogs, these flowers show up in predictable sequence. Recommended for ages 12 and up.
The hike will be a loop that starts down a steep hill. Appropriate footwear with good tread is needed. Please email Cara Gregory at cgregory@cloca.com if accommodations is required. It is also recommended that light-coloured clothing, long pants, long socks and bug spray be worn.
All ticket sales are final unless we cancel the event due to extreme weather.…
