Shovels are set to be in the ground in January 2025! Specifically, you’ll see backhoes on the north side of Victoria Street in the Lynde Creek Marsh. These backhoes will be creating channels and ponds within the dense cattail stands as part of the wetland interspersion restoration project.
This is the first of three restoration projects planned for Lynde Shores Conservation Area in an effort to mitigate threats facing the coastal wetlands of Lynde Creek and Cranberry Marshes located within Lynde Shores Conservation Area. These projects are being completed in partnership with Ducks Unlimited Canada and are made possible by a grant of over $2 million from Environment and Climate Change Canada.
